Sky Bridge 721 is one of the newest and most popular attractions in all of the Czech Republic. It wasn’t built with this intention at first, but in the end it turned out to be the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world.

We got to visit it during our trip around the East Bohemian region, and it was surely one of the highlights! Even if you’re just visiting Prague for a few days, you should definitely consider taking a day trip to Sky Bridge 721, as it’s easily doable and so worth it.

Here’s how we got to experience the Sky Bridge 721, everything you need to know about visiting it and what else you can do to complement your trip, especially if you’re staying for longer than 1 day!

Visiting Sky Bridge 721

It was pouring rain just as we were walking towards the Sky Bridge, and I was scared it would be slippery and not an enjoyable experience overall, with all this rain. Thankfully, the sky cleared just as we were about to get on the bridge, which was such a blessing!

Even though it was still cloudy and gloomy, at least it wasn’t raining, so we quickly tucked away our rain coats and made our first steps onto the bridge.

Seeing this long and narrow path before you, hanging at almost 100 metres above the ground, it’s a bit scary at first. But as soon as you start walking on it, the bridge feels very secure – it’s not slippery and it’s not swinging in any way.

Once you’re halfway through the bridge, be sure to turn around and look at the scenery – the Sky Walk as a backdrop is one of the two good opportunities to catch both attractions in one photo! The other one is after you get off the bridge and start your hike back.

Yes, the bridge is only one-way, as it’s quite narrow, so you don’t have to worry about walking the distance twice. Even though I really wanted to stay on it for as long as possible. 🙂

Interesting facts about Sky Bridge 721

The Sky Bridge is newly opened – it started welcoming visitors in May 2022, and it quickly gained popularity among travellers across the globe. As the name suggests, the bridge is 721 metres long and it’s currently the longest suspension footbridge in the world. The Sky Bridge 721 has surpassed 516 Arouca – a suspension bridge in Portugal, which formerly held this title.

You may be wondering how much it cost to build the world’s longest suspension bridge? The answer is 8.4 million dollars. And it took 2 years to complete.

Once you get on the Sky Bridge, you’ll be walking at 95 metres above the ground, so think twice if you have a fear of heights. It’s important to note that the bridge felt extremely stable and there was pretty much no movement, despite all the people on it. With its 6 main supporting ropes and 60 wind ropes, the bridge felt safe the whole time and even one lady from our group managed to get through it without any issues, despite having a fear of heights. But if you’re not sure how you’d feel up there, just take a few steps and assess how you’re feeling – we’re all different!

The walkway is only 1.2 metres wide, which is the reason why you can only go one way, and have to “hike” back the 2 km educational trail once you get off.

Fun fact – if you’re visiting Sky Bridge during your ski vacation, you can even cross it in your ski boots.

Where is Sky Bridge 721

Sky Bridge 721 is located in Dolní Morava – a mountain resort in the Czech Republic, in the region of East Bohemia.

How to get to Sky Bridge 721

The easiest way to get to Sky Bridge 721 is by car, although it’s also possible to reach it by public transport. It takes around 2 hours and 45 minutes by car to reach Dolní Morava from Prague, and 2 hours from Brno.

If you don’t have a car during your trip, you can go by train from Prague to Ústí nad Orlicí, then take another train from Ústí nad Orlicí to Králíky, and then by bus to Dolní Morava. Or you can go by bus from Prague to Králíky, then from Králíky to Dolní Morava. The journey with public transportation takes almost 4 hours.

There’s an even easier alternative, and this is to book a full day trip to Sky Bridge 721 from Prague, with transportation, lunch and all admission tickets covered. A minimum of 2 people is required for the tour to take place, making it a great option for couples or larger groups. I find this to be the most convenient way, as it’s all organised for you.

How much does the ticket to Sky Bridge 721 cost

The regular entry ticket to the Sky Bridge varies between 400 and 500 Czech korunas (€17 – €21). However, you need to take into consideration how you’re going to reach it. There’s the option to hike it which would take around 2 hours one-way (see the hiking route on the official website), but I strongly urge you to take advantage of the chair lift, which takes you directly to the top of the mountain. It’s important to note that hiking there is only available in the warmer months – in winter the ski slopes belong to the skiers.

A combination ticket, including the chair lift in both directions, can cost between 850 and 1000 Czech korunas (€35 – €41), as of 2023. If you’ve read my East Bohemia itinerary, you’ll know about the awesome Alpine Coaster, which you can take on the way down instead of the chair lift. Hint: it’s a 10-minute bobsleigh ride around the forest trees and down the hill, at a speed of up to 50 km/h! The great news is that this combined ticket allows you to take the Alpine Coaster instead of the chair lift on your way down, without any additional charges! Just look out for the SKY WALKER ticket on their website.

Your third ticket option is a combination of the Sky Bridge 721, the chair lift/alpine coaster and the Sky Walk. This is the SKY WALKER EXTRA ticket and costs between 1000 and 1400 Czech korunas (€41 – €58), depending on the day. How to buy a ticket to Sky Bridge 721

According to Dolní Morava’s official website, you must buy the ticket online in advance through their e-shop. All ticket reservations are bound to an approximate entry time, so if you’re not sure when you’ll get there, you can also buy a ticket just before the entrance. There are self-service cash registers in the new customer care centre or in the self-service kiosk directly at the entrance gate to Sky Bridge 721.

Keep in mind that you’ll get the best price if you register and buy your tickets from their e-shop.

Other Things to do in Dolní Morava Mountain Resort

Sky Walk

Sky Walk Dolni Morava, East Bohemia
The entrance at the Sky Walk

Sky Walk is located right next to Sky Bridge and, in my personal opinion, if you’ve already made it here, you need to visit both attractions.

Sky Walk, as the name suggests, allows you to walk up in the sky and be among the clouds. This is a 55-metre-tall metal construction, located at 1,116 metres above the sea level. You can walk the full 710 metres of this spiral-like construction, which uncovers some breathtaking views over the whole massif of Králický Sněžník with the picturesque valley of the Morava river.

One of the coolest features of the Sky Walk is the slide, which allows you to drop from the very top of the construction down to the exit in a matter of a minute. The slide is 100 metres long and if it wasn’t raining on the day of our visit, I would’ve definitely tried it.

Mammoth Alpine Coaster

east bohemia bobsleigh

In order to get back down to the resort of Dolní Morava, you can either take the chair lift or experience the mammoth alpine coaster, which is what I recommend! This is the longest bobsleigh track in the Czech Republic and the second longest one in Europe.

I had never been on a bobsleigh ride before and it was one of the highlights of our whole trip! The return ticket allows you to take the alpine coaster instead of the chair lift at no additional cost (as of 2022).

If you’re somewhat of an adrenaline junkie – just trust me on this one! And you don’t have to be scared because you go at your own pace and can slow down whenever you feel unsure. Or you can go full speed! 🙂

Skiing and snowboarding

Dolní Morava is among the most popular and modern ski resorts in the Czech Republic and it offers 8 ski slopes with a total distance of 10.4 km. With its many different levels of difficulty, there’s something for everyone, regardless of whether you’re a true beginner or you’re looking for some more advanced slopes.

Children can also enjoy a day in the snow here – there’s a children’s ski park and even a baby ski park, with appropriate lifts/magic carpets!

Adrenaline Park

Dolni Morava, East BohemiaDolni Morava, East Bohemia

Right beneath the Sky Walk and Sky Bridge, next to the chair lift, you’ll find the Adrenaline park of Dolní Morava.

If you think the Sky Bridge and Sky Walk are adventurous, you need to visit this park. There are quite a few attractions, suitable for people of all ages, but two truly stood out to me.

The first one is the 13-metre swing, which we got to try during our visit and it was one of the most adrenaline-laden things I had tried in my life! You can read more about our experience in my East Bohemia travel guide, but in short – this swing has two seats and you’re being released from 13 metres above ground. You start swinging down with such high speed that I was screaming my lungs out. It was scary but it was also unforgettable!

The second adrenaline attraction is the Powerfun, which allows you to experience a free-fall jump with a rapid descent and a soft landing. This is achieved through a mechanism with a fan that continuously and safely controls the fall. We didn’t get to try this one, but it sounds a lot of fun!

Additionally, at the adrenaline park you’ll find a climbing wall, a ropeway and a few other attractions.

Hiking

Dolní Morava has a few hiking routes to offer. One of the most popular ones is the Králický Sněžník peak, which takes you to 1 424 m above sea level and it’s around 10 km one way.

Other hikes include the Spring of the Morava river, 9-11 km (one way), the Klepý View Tower (7 km one way) and a hike to the Králíky Fortified Sector. You can find more detailed information about each route here.

Mountain Biking

In the warmer months Dolní Morava turns into a mountain biking paradise! There are different terrains, catering to people of all levels, and on the resort’s website you can find their top recommendations for biking tours.

Bike and equipment rentals are also available on the spot.

Enjoy a SPA day

Wellness Hotel Vista in Dolni Morava
A pool with a view at Wellness Hotel Vista

Last but not least, after all these outdoor activities, you can take a break and relax properly at Wellness Hotel Vista’s SPA. In addition to the pool and jacuzzi, you can enjoy a nice sauna, a steam room, a relaxation massage and other wellness treatments.

My personal advice would be if you want a massage, to book it at least a few days in advance – I tried booking one for the same day, but there were sadly no slots available.
